Kerala's Biggest Students' Ecological Festival
Myristica is an annual Ecological Festival organized in connection with the 'United Nations International Decade of Biodiversity' (2011- 2020). The last edition of the event was organized in collaboration with Malabar Natural History Society (MNHS) which is an independent NGO engaged in nature education, research and conservation in the state of Kerala. Myristica seeks to invoke the green spirit of the youngsters in the state and thereby reinstate Kerala's glorious past. It also aims to offer a unique experience rooted in contemporary visual art and technological marvels, and a platform to showcase and debate the latest scientific and artistic experiences of international relevance by promoting discussions among environmentalists, students, and the public.
The concluding (fourth) season of Myristica -the State Level Ecological Festival held on 23rd January 2020 at Farook College Campus, Kozhikode.
Prof. T. Shobeendran addressed the concluding ceremony.
Myristica malabarica (കാട്ടുജാതിയ്ക്ക) is a vulnerable wetland species of kerala included in Red List which may extinct in near future due to unsustainable wetland destruction & tourism .

Making a festival greener in all aspects seems a littile bit tough. But we're ready for it, with your help. This paperless event (re)uses waste materials to make art works, utilize eco-friendly materials for promotional purposes etc.
